According to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in 2021 the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST) was established by reorganizing and merging the Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazarian and the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine. Today USUST is one of the largest universities in the of Dnipropetrovskyi region. The university has  2 educational and scientific institutes, 15 faculties, 17 research institutes, 7 test centers, 29 research laboratories. There are centers for continuing education and distance learning in the university which are provide online learning for students with the help of the web-based platform MOODLE. The University has a highly qualified academic and teaching staff, the necessary infrastructure to create innovative teaching methods and information-communication technologies in education. USUST has potential in the area of research is also confirmed by patent applications and significant publishing achievements. The University is actively involved in didactic and scientific-research projects financed by EU funds. There are the leading transport and metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine and Europe among the industrial partners.
