Hello all,
The summer and autumn of 2016 saw "alpha" releases of railML 3 being published regularly. But since v 3.0.is4, in early October, no further progress has been communicated.
What is the status today? What does the release plan currently look like?
I'm asking not only for my own organisation, but also on behalf of the IN2RAIL EU project. There, we plan to base a canonical data model for TMS related applications on railML 3. An uncertain release plan may be a showstopper in that respect.

Dear Martin,
thank you for your message.
The latest railML v3 alpha version is still v3.0.is4 released in October
2016. The reason why there has not been a visible progress since then is
the ongoing work "behind the scenes": Together with two companies from
France, railML.org is working hard on a so-called "One-UML-Approach"
that aims at bringing the two UML models of RailTopoModel and railML
together and fully automate any specific model output, e.g. generating
the railML schema files [1]. As it turned out during this iterative
development process, this whole topic is quite complex in the details
and claims more time than originally expected.
What is the further schedule: We expect to successfully finish the
"One-UML-Approach" by 10.03.2017. On 31.03.2017 we want to publish a new
railML v3 alpha version that includes all the elements required by the
selected use cases (see all use cases with priority "1" in [2]). After
three months of iterative reviews and adaptations, we want to
incorporate the feedback and publish a railML v3 beta by 02.06.2017. The
final release of the first railML v3 is scheduled for 15.09.2017.
We published this new schedule on the railML website [3]
