Hi community,
We (HaCon) need to export restrictions as business objects in railML 3. But as far as I can see, railML 3.2 currently only offers restriction areas. Is there any way to group these restriction areas into a higher level object with it's own properties?
In the past, we had a custom extension on top of railML 2 to represent these business objects. And we are now thinking about a similar extension of railML 3 to add the necessary elements and attributes. Are there any other developments into that direction that we should consider for this extension?
Best regards

Dear David,
the current implementation of the <restrictionArea> is rather basic, which means that it is not possible to group restriction areas forming "parent" restriction areas. Apart from the statement that railML 3.2 does not provide "business objects" build on top of restriction areas, I want to ask the rest of the community about their experiences with restriction areas and their implementation. If there is interest from several sides, we may not only think about a user-specific extension, but we may also consider a schema enhancement...
As usual, any comments are highly appreciated.
Best regards
Christian

Hi all,
for those who were not able to attend the conference, I wanted to make the slides of David available. He held a short presentation on the general idea of the use case proposed here. Please let us know if you are interested in participating in a user group.
