Hello,
as I mentioned last wednesday at the railML-meeting, I have a suggestion
concerning the <speedChange>-Element.
When there is a speed change on a track, it concerns oftentimes not only one
but several train categories. In my opinion, it would be much more practical
to combine them. I imagine something similar to the
<signalGroup>/<baliseGroup>-elements. The main difference is, that we have
the base track element attributes (position, ID, dir, etc.) in the
"group-element" (let's call it <speedChangeGroup>), and the
<speedChange>-specific attributes (particularly vMax and trainCategory) in
the "member-element" (<aSpeedChange>).
I think best way to illustrate is an example:
<speedChangeGroup elemID="SC009" pos="12.039" absPos="46.132" dir="up">
<aSpeedChange vMax="90" trainCategory="R"/>
<aSpeedChange vMax="135" trainCategory="A"/>
<aSpeedChange vMax="160" trainCategory="D"/>
<aSpeedChange vMax="200" trainCategory="N"/>
</speedChangeGroup>
I hope we'd find better names than <speedChangeGroup> and <aSpeedChange> for
this. Any ideas?
And another open point is the placing of the attribute "status".
What do you think about this?
Best regards
